Hello!

I'm using ClamWin 0.93.1 with latest Virus database updates.
My friend just came to me with he's USB flash drive and now my computer is infected by Win32.HLLW.Autoruner.563 (Found and cured by Dr.Web. free scanner CureIt). I supposed to be protected from viruses by ClamWin or not? Why this thread spreaded in my PC while ClamWin is up and running? Am I doing something wrong?

At the present time, ClamWin is only a file scanner. It does not yet have real-time/on-access/resident capability.
A real-time/on-access/resident version is in development (no release date has been set). That's why you should use ClamWin as backup to a primary antivirus or behavior blocker for the present. Here's a note that is on on the ClamWin home page for all to see:

"Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware."

Some people here use Clamwin with PC Tools' ThreatFire behavior blocker, which gives you a pretty good security setup. ThreatFire is a behavior-blocker that comes with a file scanner version of PC Tools Antivirus, and you can use ClamWin as a backup. The Clam/ClamWin signatures are updated more often than PC Tools updates theirs.
