Uncheck "detect executable files"

I am and have been for a while a fan of ClamWin. However, when scanning an .mp3 I realized that something was wrong when the results came out as this.

Scan Started Wed Jul 23 23:24:36 2008
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------- SCAN SUMMARY -----------
Known viruses: 367584
Engine version: 0.93.1
Scanned directories: 0
Scanned files: 1
Infected files: 0

Data scanned: 0.00 MB
Time: 9.812 sec (0 m 9 s)
--------------------------------------
Completed
--------------------------------------

I did some searching on the forums and found that the Detect Executable Files option being checked would be the cause of it skipping that file. In previous versions I had seen that option and left it checked. However, the post I read said that it would be under advanced but, the "detect executable files" was not there.

Therefore, I would be most grateful if someone could provide a screenshot and/or in depth explanation of the location of this option so I can uncheck it.
Thanks in Advance, A ClamWin and https://www.bugmenot.com/view/forums.clamwin.com Bugmenot.com user.

Hello,
The 'Detect executable files only' once in Advanced tab has been superseded (see following https://forums.clamwin.com/viewtopic.php?t=1716&highlight=)
As far as I know Clamwin scans the file as 'raw' file and check it with its signature database to verify if it contains malware.

I remember Guitarbob made some explanation about scans of raw files: here it is
You also asked what a "raw file" scan is. There are many file compressors, packers, encryptors, and obfuscation programs used for both legitimate software and malware. No antivirus program can uncompress/unpack/unencrypt/unobfuscate all of them. If Clam/ClamWin finds a file it can't handle, it still scans the "raw" file as it is. There is a small chance that it might still find a bit of a signature when it does a raw scan.

Hope this helps,
Antonio

MP3 files are considered safe and are excluded by the engine in order to speed up scanning (as well as othe media files, such as avi, etc.)

Thanks for your reply.

However, I am a very paranoid person and am also wondering if there are any Command Line Parameters or standard options that I can use so that (at the cost of time) it will scan media files, image files, etc. that are normally skipped? I have plenty of time so a four to ten hour scan is not a problem.

Thanks In Advance.

Sorry, didn't know the information I had was outdated.
Thanks Alch for having cleared this issue. Very Happy
