Don't know if that's the best way to describe what Im thinking of. From a users perspective, what I was looking for in an anti virus package was a product that lets me select a directory and just have my anti virus software monitor that. Most anti virus software I've tried seems to want to run over your entire system monitoring every point of access which seems like overkill to me.
My ISP monitors my email with anti viral software for me so I'm not concerned there. I rarely ever use external media that I haven't monitored myself so my main point of concern is downloads from either the web, peer to peer, or newsgroups. I download all of these to one folder and currently "try to remember" to scan everything with ClamWin before opening. Not ideal but if I could have ClamWin check that folder each time it changes that would be perfect?
Does that make sense?

yes, this feature is planned. It will not prevent from executing an infected file 100% as clamwin would receive notification if a file chnaged. But this should be good enough for monitoring downloads folder.
