On startup of W98, error message "A required file: LIBCLAMAV.DLL was not found".
Also sporadic error messages in Outlook
"An error occured while scanning: global name 'pyc' is not defined.
I suspect both are related.

most likely when you uninstalled or upgraded clamwin the file was in use and wasscheduled to be removed/upgraded on the next reboot. If you don't reboot when clamwin installer prompts you to the file might get deleted.
Reinstall version 0.93.1 and the problem should go away
