Hi All:

Some Windows Operating systems get the "Scan Started" date and time message like this:

Code:
Scan Started Mon Jan 07 20:30:02 2008

and others do not. What can I do to make certain the date and time is logged into ClamScanLog.txt?

Metta,
Dale E. Moore
PS:
This works: OS: Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2
This fails: OS: Microsoft Windows NT 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4[/code]

I assume clamscan/clamwin uses the date and time format as set in the system. Have you compared these settings between the 2 machines (Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > long date / short date) ?

Maybe you already did, but we need to confirm this first.

Hi bdtse:

Thanks for your prompt help!

Here's the results of two systems:
Code:
                 Date logged                       No date logged
Name             PCBACKUP                          HamBone
OS Version       NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2        NT 6.0.6000.0
Time             3:18:09 PM                        3:01:56 PM
Short date       3/4/2008                          3/4/2008
Long date        Tuesday, March 04, 2008           Tuesday, March 04, 2008

In the first column is the Description or Control Panel, Regional Settings field type. The second column is a system where the date and time is always logged. The third column is a system that never logs.

What other information can I provide that might be helpful in diagnosing this issue?

Seems that my assumption was wrong.
I'm not familiar with the actual ClamScan code, so i would have to look that up if i find the time (which i cannot promise).
