Secure virus removal + Boot media

I've two suggestions for ClamWin:

1. I'm not sure, whether this is already implemented, but anyway: If ClamWin finds any kind of infected files and the "remove" option is enabled, a secure erasing algorithm (DoD for example) should be used to delete the malware.

2. I know the ClamWin plugin for BartPE, but also a standalone bootable version of ClamWin would be nice anyway.

1) why? it's not sensible data
2) a bootable stuff needs an operating system, windows files are not redistributable, we should wait reactos progress for this or using linux clamav with a linux live distro

On item (1), Sherpya, he's probably concerned with making certain that a virus is removed from the computer and can never be restored. It might help if you told him/us how ClamWin removes a virus. Are they put into the Recycle Bin or are they removed by another method?

they are removed directly, only a recover tool can restore them, perhaps wiping the file as secure erasing method looks a bit excessive to me

Thanks for the information--that's good enough for my computer, since I'm not using it at the CIA!

What if you got a virus which could restore deleted viruses!

How hard is it to give the USER an option to use a secure erasing method?
