This is something really weird that started recently.

I always use to scan and use Clamwin without problems, but recently whenever I am scanning my harddrive, after a while, the PC Speaker begins to beep non-stop. It is driving me mad and I can't understand why. I am not scanning as much as I should have lately.

Any ideas, I am stumped?!

That is kind of weird! Some suggestions:

Have you made any changes in your system/devices lately--maybe added/upgraded a card or installed new media software/upgraded it or even installed some new software? If so, that could be the problem--check your configuration options, if possible and/or check with the manufacturer. If not, you might try a scan with another antivirus (maybe AVG) to see if there is a similar problem with it--if so, it's definitely not a Clamwin problem. You might perform a ClamWin scan in Windows Safe Mode and see if you still have the problem. Safe Mode only loads minimal drivers/processes, so if you don't have the problem, one of the missing drivers/processes is responsible--note what Windows processes you have working after a normal boot (CTRL-ALT-DEL for Task Manager) and compare them with the processes working during the Safe Mode scan. That might help spot the process. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can't really think of any major changes since it started, but I'll try and figure it out.

Found out it does the same thing with Spybot S&D so it is definitely not a ClamWin thing.

So it only beebs when I am scanning for problems. Weird!
