Is there a way to build using the cygwin suite (e.g., gcc, mingw32, etc.)?

I've just downloaded the ClamWin source code from SVN, and want to build it, before looking at what changes I might wish to make.
I am looking to test/code/enhance the ClamWin service. From the posts in this thread, I can use either MSVC Free, or MinGW. Is this actually correct? All other things being equal, I would prefer to use the MinGW tools. Are there any recommendations regarding build environments? Cheers! Nik. |

not any more, clamwin requires VS2005 to build. This is because we moved away from cygwin binaries to native win32 clamav code.
I believe you can get VC2005 Express free from Microsoft, you will also need PaltformSDK from Microsoft. |

Thanks Mate,
I'll go back to the MS site and start downloading. Guess I'll need to run up an MS OS in a virtual OS host as well. All this just to scan for viruses... Cheers! Nik |
