I've been using this program for years but just joined the forums. I checked myspace and there was no clamwin page so I signed up and will make if it that fine? Its a good way to spread the product for the teen to twenties age group. What should I add?

Also seems like a great way to get support.

Hopefully one of the ClamWin people will give you a response soon. They are certainly interested in attracting users, but resources are light, so this might be of help in their efforts.

I agree they need some kind of advertising of Clamwin. I have only started using this program after Norton damn near made me throw my computer out the window because of it being a system hog. I found out about Clamwin from one of our IT guys "The Good Hackers" that keeps our computers in the hosptial running virus free. I have also wanted to find a place where I can leave a review for the program. My only regret is that I didn't know about this program sooner. I do have one fear for all of us, if we get the name out there, will the "bad hackers" try and distroy the program like they do to the other main stream "Brand Name" programs. All I can say is Thank You all for helping us poor people.

ClamWin is no more/less apt to be attacked by malware writers than any other antivirus. Its visibility is pretty low. It also uses the Open Source engine from the ClamAV project (now owned by Sourcefire) which is under constant development by Clam (with more resources than ClamWin), and any vulnerabilities are attended to quickly. In fact, it appears that Open Source software is more apt to be "patched" faster than the commercial stuff. In addition, the corps of ClamWin users contain some pretty dedicated users who use it under a variety of conditions in many countries, and they can alert the developers of any problems.

I believe no one would oppose to any efforts of spreading the word about ClamWin. This would only enlarge the user base and thus the pool of potential resources.

Currently nobody is working on any marketing effort, so I'll just give my opinion of what to add here:
I believe any external page should just be a port that leads interested parties to https://www.clamwin.com www.clamwin.com for more info, so it should be no more than a short introduction, maybe a screenshot and the content of the ClamWin About page (https://www.clamwin.com/content/view/71/1/ https://www.clamwin.com/content/view/71/1/).

Put just enough information there to tell any viewer what it is about, but no more, since maintaining any info outside of www.clamwin.com would be a pain.
