If I exclude clamtmp files from my scans, will ClamWin still "police" them up in the course of normal operations?

I believe you guys have said that the clamtmp files are created whenever ClamWin encounters some problem (including manual termination, evidently--had a lot of that today) during scans and that it will police/delete them from your hard drive at some point.

They seem to be some sort of dump, and there can be a lot of them--depending upon what's happened. If they are still around when the next scan is made, there can be a lot of them, and ClamWin will just "chew" on them--taking lots of time. To save scanning time, I thought about excluding any clamtmp files from my scans. When is ClamWin supposed to clean them up?. Will it still clean/delete them if I exclude them from scaning, or will it have to "see" a clamtmp file to "clean" it?

clamtmp are left when clamav is interrupted or may be when an handle leak (that shouldn't happen so often) leaves in use the dir
clamwin should get rid of these files, and this is a minor bug it should be investigated anyway
I suggest ccleaner to keep clean you tmp

Well, you can stop ClamWin scans pretty often when you are doing some testing, and those tmp files really build up. I've used Ccleaner, but it's too agressive for me. Thanks.

That way the amount of files left would always be limited. Don't know if this is feasible though.
