Clamwin not using all available CPU?

I have a Pentium IV 3.2GHz HT CPU and it appears as an SMP CPU to the O.S. but when I scan my HDD and I see CPU usage, I see that it's anywhere between 45-48% CPU usage, in other words, Clamwin doesn't seem to be using the Hyper Threading feature of the CPU. Should I report it to the bug database in the wishlist section?

It's not a bug. ClamWin still uses the legacy programming with which it was initially developed. You'll have to wait until version 1.0 for more efficient use of the processor and other techniques to increase efficiency. As for when v 1.0 will be available, there's no set date. There is an early alpha version, but it needs more development, and then there's testing to be done.

Regards,

Er. Clamscan.exe, which is what performs the actual scanning currently, would need to be implemented to use multiple-threads in order to use all of your processing resources. Threaded programming is much more difficult than single-threaded.

Thanks for the update. I knew it isn't a bug, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of it. Yeah, this kind of low-level programing is definitely not easy at all. Best of luck and thanks for the very good software.
