There are several people who have created free automated scripts to remove some of the more "popular" malware running around on the Web--especially spyware. With a little urging, they might be willing to allow the ClamWin developers to include their scripts in the ClamWin distribution package (or to integrate the scripts into the ClamWin program). There is also a few fairly comprehensive free programs to remove some viruses. This might be a way to put an original stamp on ClamWin and include something in it that doesn't come from ClamAV. I know that ClamAv isn't going to devote too much time to malware removal.
If you Clamwin developers are interested, I would be glad to see what's available and contact the originators. If not right now, just let me know when. If nothing else, some links/information about removal sites/software in a help file might be helpful. I think I'll go ahead with the "inventory" of free removal products/sites--it might help someone.

that's a very good idea. I am not sure about including them with clamwin, but a section on the website with links/instructions sounds very good.

That's a good idea. It would enable ClamWin to offer a useful service by providing a place listing resources in fighting malware. It seems that some of the large AV companies don't provide as much help as they used to--they're much more proprietary now. A lot of what you see regarding resources against malware is old also.
