i got an email from clam av saying my submission had been answered. and gave me a number, but i searched everywhere on here, read the faq's and cant seem to find anywhere to find the answer. what am i doing wrong? thanks

nothing is wrong. The clamav database team will review your submission and make amendments to the database if necessary. It takes a while to process the request though. Sometimes a week or longer. You can subscribe or search clamav-virusdb mailing list to see if when your submission was accepted or rejected:
