Hello Manfred,
since we can not see on your pc, could you please detail some more info ? You should know, the disappearing can have several causes, which make it then difficult for others to reproduce this anomaly: other installed software, your hardware, some specific actions, ... I know the following steps might be much to ask at first, but please keep in mind, we all do this to help solve your problem, so the more info you give, the faster it could be solved: What exact steps are you doing ? starting and then immediately scanning or doing also other steps ? So, let's see if we can make your scan work somehow: - Does this happen ALWAYS when scanning ? What about, if you scan only a single file ? - How about you change the scan directory (perhaps there is something special with the dir you want to scan) ? - What about if you try the same (scan a file or directory) from the windows explorer extension (right click on a file and select "Scan with ClamWin Free AntiVirus") ? - Does it also happen, when you scan memory ? - What about, if you set up a scheduled scan ? BTW: this seems to me like a crash or a discovery of a secret exit functionality, which someone implemented and did not remove by now ![]() Could you check after the disappearing, what kind of processes you have still running in your memory (the ones starting with Clam...) ? Were you using ClamWin also before ? If so, did you install it over the old version (which version number was it?) ? This info would be for start, but there is much more to consider, which we can detail, when you give a little feedback Thank you, Erkan YILMAZ blog: https://iaskquestions.com I ask questions |

Having installed the latest version yesterday (10.7.) evening downloaded from Clamwins website. Old version deinstalled and reinstalled downloaded version thanks for answering manfred |

Please also have a look in your TEMP folder (something like c:\documents and settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp, you can find the exact folder by typing "echo %TEMP%" in a command prompt).
There might be a ClamWin1.log file (or something similar) that contains more information. Peter |
