We have a test server with two Xeon 3.06 GHz CPUs and 2 GB RAM running Windows 2000 Advanced Server and ClamWin. It takes 60+ seconds for Clamwin to scan 3 images (each under 50kb) which is SUPER SLOW.
Is there any way to optimize the procedures, settings or anything to speed up the anti-virus scanning process???

when you scan a few files clamwin is slow because it loads and verifies the virus signature database every time it is started. When you svcan the whole disk it is less of a problem. We are working on a solution to this problem which will be available in V1.

Honestly I don't know. It has been 85% ready for a year now. We need more resources to get it done, either money to pay for the development or capable c++/c# developers able to donate their time.

When I scan only a few files, can I somehow just load and verify the virus signature database one time? Is there anyway to do this?
