USA Homeland Security has decided there is a problem with online security! Toward that end, they are issuing a blanket Request for Proposal (RFP) for funding of security projects. They will accept open source application. It might be worth it for the ClamWin developers to take a look at the RFQ and see if ClamWin could get some funding for additional functionality and tell Homeland Security how they intend to disseminate it into the Open Source community. Doesn't sound too hard, does it? The RFP probably wouldn't be too difficult either--sort of a larger Summer of Code project.
Here is a link to the RFP document: https://www.hsarpabaa.com/Solicitations/BAA07-09_CyberSecurityRD_Posted_05162007.pdf.

Thanks for the correction--just goes to prove that you need to check out a link yourself before you post it.
I will write the RFP if someone can provide me with any technical information/other direction that might be needed.

GuitarBob, thanks for digging this up.
I think ClamAV team should apply, not us as they provide malware detection in our project. Also I have some reservations about getting US Government funding for ClamWin.
Cheers,
Alch

Thanks, Alch. I'll pass it on to ClamAV then.
