If ClamWin is simply a front end for a Linux Anti-Virus, then how is is sufficient for Windows? There are so many more virus' for Windows and Linux people don't have to worry about those. So if we are running a Windows OS and a Linux Anti-Virus, what's going to protect us from all the virus'? I was reading in a review somewhere that ClamWin has very few virus definitions in it's database and that's what got me to thinking about this. I'd appreciate some help on this.

Thanks,

Matt

ClamAV was originally implemented on a linux environment, but it isn't designed to only detect linux viruses. The vast majority of signatures in its database are for windows viruses. I think the original use of the scanner was to scan mail messages for windows viruses are received by linux mail servers. There are a substantial amount of signatures in the clamav database, just check out the database folder they're stored in.
