Hi all...I've had ClamWin for the past several releases and am running into problems with the new one (0.90.2). Main issue is that it won't scan...when I attempt to, this is what comes up:
Could not start process:
"C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\clamscan.exe" --tempdir "c:\docume~1\user\locals~1\temp" --keep-mbox --stdout --database="C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\db" --log="c:\docume~1\user\locals~1\temp\tmp-uow3k" --max-ratio=0 --no-mail --skip-noexe --infected --max-files=500 --max-space=10240 --max-recursion=5 --show-progress --move="C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\quarantine" --recursive --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\default" --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\SAM" --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\SECURITY" --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\software" --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\software.alt" --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\system" --exclude="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\system.alt" --exclude="[^\]*\.dbx$" --exclude="[^\]*\.tbb$" --exclude="[^\]*\.pst$" --exclude="[^\]*\.dat$" --exclude="[^\]*\.log$" --exclude="[^\]*\.evt$" --exclude="[^\]*\.nsf$" --exclude="[^\]*\.ntf$" --exclude="[^\]*\.chm$" --kill "C:\\"
Error: Could not start process.
C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\clamscan.exe
File does not exist.
What is interesting is this: I re-installed ClamWin and found that "clamscan.exe" existed in the directory as it should. However, after setting my preferences and daily scans (the only thing I customized was the daily scan times and where I would send infected files), the file no longer existed within the "bin" directory, presumably causing the problem I am encountering. Please help. Thank you.

depends what you did with install/uninstall. If you uninstalled it while clamscan was running, then installer logged clamscan for deletion on next reboot. Then if you ignored the reboot prompt and installed clamwin again, clamscan will disappear on the next reboot.

I've tried to all memory of ClamWin, through un-installing and restarting the computer, and then re-install. The same thing keeps happening: clamscan exists until I try to run any form of a scan on the computer. What are the steps that need to be taken to correct this?
I'm incredibly frustrated.

try filemon from sysinternals (now Microsoft) https://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/Filemon.mspx
and see what process deletes the file
