The error messages you get about files being unaccessible can be ignored: if a program is executed, it locks itsself, so no other program can change it while it is running. The error messages are caused by some of these locks.

The warning about the Phishing email being found means that you have received an email or file which might try to retrieve sensitive information about you. This won't harm you as long as you do not enter the data it asks for. Cleaning up your mailbox (removing any junk) should solve the problem.

As to the performance problem: ClamWin/ClamAV do a intensive scan. You can limit the time the scan takes by excluding certain files that are not likely to be infected (like *.msi and *.cab). Another thing you can do is disable or limit archive scanning, so large archives won't be unpacked each time a scan runs. Do mind that the more files you exclude, the more risk you take on missing infections.

Hope this helps,

You can set up your scan for late at night or other times when it won't matter. You can also set up several scans for different times instead of scanning everything at once. For instance, scan the Windows directory in one scan. Scan the programs directory in another scan. Scan documents and settings in another scan. See?

If you select the quarantine option, ClamWin will quarantine any files containing malware it finds. I'm not sure, but I believe it quarantines as it finds something, but you probably won't be able to see it until the scan is completed. Just keep ClamWin updated and use on-demand scans or scheduled scans and let it do its thing and display the virus scan report upon completion.

To be safe, you should upload quarantined files to VirusTotal and see if other scanners find a virus. If they do, it's probably the real thing. If only ClamWin finds something, it might be a false positive.

@ joeymag9: Be sure to set the action on detection of infected files to "Move to quarantine folder". This is in the Preferences on the General tab.

The warning is red and bold just because each infection is shown in that way, without distinctions.
