I have run into an odd problem, after using clamwin for over a year. I have four internal hard drives and when I attempt to scan any of them I get the following error message almost instantaneously.

ERROR MESSAGE:
____________

"/cygdrive/c/Program Files/ClamWin/bin/clamscan: unrecognized option `--keep-mbox'
ERROR: Unknown option passed."
_____________

I removed clamwin and reinstalled, but something is blocking it. Any suggestions? Note that the drive I attempted to scan is the C: drive and the error message calls it the cygdrive/c/Program Files....

Oddly, when I try to scan the other drive letters, the exact same message comes up, but not with the proper drive letter in it. I have to say I am a little suspicious that something has disabled clamwin.

Thanks,
Bluefang

Is outlook still open when you shut down the computer?

I can not use clamwin to scan any drive. Here is the message that comes up immediately when I attempt to scan my C drive.

/cygdrive/c/Program Files/ClamWin/bin/clamscan: unrecognized option `--keep-mbox'
ERROR: Unknown option passed.

I have updated to the latest version of clamwin and this is relatively new. Any guesses as to what is going on here?

Bluefang: Just a suggestion: check your ClamWin configuration and make sure nothing is in the Additional Command Line Scan Parameters under the Advanced configuration options.

@Bluefang:
Please check that only have one clamscan.exe file on your PC. When you find it, run it in a command shell and it will tell you the engine version. This should be 0.88.7 if you have the latest version.

While you are in that command shell, try running "clamscan --keep-mbox". It shouldn't complain about that option, just about some more info it needs. On the contrary, if you run "clamscan --test" it will say that '--test' is an invalid option.
