I was looking at the ClamAV Web site last night, and I noticed that when Clam Antivirus was first developed, they took the Aho-Corasic algorithm that molecular biologists use to identify protein familes and applied it to virus scans. Does anyone know if Clam still uses it? If so, that sounds like a hell of a good marketing gimmick, and someone should publicize it. All the commercial antivirus firms are coming up with their own "techie" gimmicks--for heuristics, sandboxes, etc.. That's in the same league.
