I have just installed Clamwin on my Win2003 server.
I ran a couple scans but the scan log only shows the data and time the scans started.
Scan messages show in the scan window as the process runs.
But at the end onty the start time shows and the word Completed.
When I look at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\log\ClanScanLog.txt it only shows the start times.
I have set up the prefernce to quarrantine files and nothing was moved there so I think no viruses were found.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Any ideas / advice on how to correct would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin
PS: I also ran Clamwin scans on my Win2003 Servers and logs look fine.

looks like clamwin crashes on a ceratin file and does not complete the scan. What happens if you try to scan a single file, do you see the scan report?

Also does anything form this FAQ apply to your computer?

1. When I scan a single file or directory, the scan report shows all the information.

FAQ
We receive many bug reports about strange behavior by ClamWin (like empty reports and weird scanning behavior).
2. Strange behavior can be caused by either another version of cygwin installed somewhere (search for cygwin1.dll on your pc and replace it with the one from clamwin\bin)
I have installed apcupsd which uses cygwin1.dll as well prior to Clamwin
Here is the comaprison of the 2 files:
Property apcupsd Clamwin
SIZE 949KB 1266KB
APIVERSION 0.94 0.132
BUILDDATE 2003-09-20 16:31 2005-07-02 20:30
FILE/PRODUCT VERSION 1.5.5-cr-0x9b 1.5.18
SHARED MEMORY 3 4

I replaced the apcups\bin\cygwin1.dll with the clamwin\bin\cygwin1.dll
I scanned a single file - no trouble
I then scanned the C: drive - same issue
The scan report shows the following:
--------------------
Scan Started Mon Jan 9 12:16:43 2006

------------
Completed
------------
No error or summary information is displayed.

3. or your %COMSPEC% environment variable is incorrect.
The COMSPEC variable is set to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe".
Is this setting incorrect?

the %COMSPEC% is correct. Did your search find any other cygwin1.dll files?
there may be other cygwin dlls that are conflicting:
cygbz2-1.dll
cyggmp-3.dll
cygminires.dll
cygz.dll

What happens if you rename/remove apcups folder tremporarily and scan drive C:\?

No. I only found the cygwin1.dll outside of clamwin\bin

The same...
I updated the apcupsd service so it will only start manually instead of automatically so it would not load upon reboot
I rebooted and then I renamed the apcupsd folder to apcupsd_X
I scanned and obtained the same results.

I also uninstalled 0.87.1 (Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel) and installed 0.88.
After that a scheduled scan ran with the same results.
I then tried starting the scan by right clicking C:\ in Windows Explorer and picking Scan with Clamwin - on the off chance that starting the scan differently would have some effect because when I start the scan from the the right click menu on folders or files it works - I got the same results
I was thinking of uninstalling apcupsd and trying again.

No one else has reporting any issues running on WIN 2003 Server?
I am starting to get a complex:-)
Any further advice / ideas?
