New Memory Scanning Option

I was wondering if the new memory scan in ClamWin relies upon the signature database just like the on-demand scan. Does it use any code from ClamAV or is it solely ClamWin code?

memory scan it's implemented in native clamscan port, upstream clamav doesn't have it, also we have unrar 3 module from clamav-devel and
7zip unpacker that are missing in the original version

Thanks for the info. Can any of the memory scan code be used to help in resident scanner?
