Hi all, Very Happy

First of all, let my say, that ClamWin is a great scanner!

However, a lot of the Google-ads on the ClamWin-sites are for disputable scanners.
On the Dutch ClamWin-site, there even is an google-ad for WinAntivirus Pro 2006 Crying or Very sad

How can i advice people to download ClamWin, while i know that, if they click such an ad, they could be exposed to these rogue scanners.

So, please, do something about those ads!

Ads on clamwin website are served by Google and we do not have direct control over what is being displayed.
The only thing I can do is put winantivirus.com in the filter list and hope it won't reappear, which I have done. Thanks for notifying.

Edit: You can also do most web publishers a favour and let Google know about the rogue advertisers. To do so please send them an email with your concerns to: adsbygoogle+aff@google.com

I know there is a list with about 190 bad Google-advertizers, wich you can instantly use in the filter (wich may contain 200 entries, if i remember correctly).
If you're interested, i could probably get permission to sent it to you or anyone at ClamWin that is responsible for website-maintenance.

Done that a couple of times, already, with simular advertizers as WinAntivirus (and i think even WinAntivirus).
It doesn't seem to help a lot.
Still, i'll keep reporting those baddies to whomever it concerns, constantly ... as you've noticed Wink

I reckon you may have been wrong about the "WnAntivirus Pro 2006" ad. I saw it today and it leads to a credible site (macrovirus.com). It may have had same title by a coincidence.

In that case, so for bothering you.

Thank you for your time.
