That is correct--real time scanning requires some good systems programming knowledge, and the Clam AV people have never done much for Windows. They prepare a Windows port of Linux Clam AV, but it is command line only--it does not have the GUI interface that Windows users need, and it does not scan in real-time. Clam AV is and always has been basically an on-demand AV scanner for Linux email computers who do not need to scan email and attachments n real-time. Even on Linux computers, the Clam AV real-time scanner requires some configuration work by the user, and it does not have a GUI.

There is no new version of ClamWin scheduled. The ClamWin developers just prepare a port of the Clam AV for Linux AV when they are able to do so.

There have been no ClamWin Windows ports of Clam AV for well over a year now. Clam AV has had many versions/updates since then. Sherpya continues to prrepare his ports, but Alch has not taken them and done the additional work to get them ready for Windows. I do not expect to see any more from him.
