Clam Win keeps disabling my printer suite

Hi all! Clam Win works great in everything except it keeps disabling my hpqdirec.exe. It also changes the name of the file. Luckily I was able to change the name back but I had to remove Clam Win so I could use my all in one printer and all of its capabilities. How do I make an exception or keep Clam Win from flagging this as an infected file. I have ran an online scanner from another company and there is no infection here.

What does ClamWin do? When it detects a file as malicious, it is supposed to put the file in its quarantine folder and rename it with an "infected" on the end of the file. If this is what it does, you should be able to restore it with the QRecover program found in the ClamWin program/bin folder. After you restore the file, you can "whitelist" it to prevent future detections via the ClamWin Configuration, Tools, Preferences, Filters, Exclude Matching Filenames function. Read up in the ClamWin Help, Manual tool about configuration functions. Here is how I whitelisted a file: C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Local\Temp\FRST64.exe

Let us know if you need any more help--because some functions aren't very well described (or even omitted) in the manual. I'd rather let you see if you can do this before I go into any detailed instructions.

Regards,

Thanks Bob for your help. I already renamed it but now I will try and whitelist so I can continue to use clamwin.
