My computer was off when the scheduled scan is supposed to run weekly because the computer was asleep or off (it's set to go to sleep after two hours of inactivity, and hibernate when I close the lid plugged in or not), and with my usage I'm not sure there's a consistent enough day/time that I have the laptop on, and I'm not seeing an option to set ClamWin to scan ASAP after a missed scheduled scan.
Is there an option for this, or is there some reason why there isn't one or shouldn't be one?

There currently is no option in ClamWin to make up for a missed scan. I'm not sure if this will help, but you might try installing ClamWin as an administrator and see if it will do a scheduled scan then. Otherwise, you might want to schedule the scan(s) when the computer will normally be in use.
An automatic re-scan is certainly something to put on a future ClamWin "wish list". Many AVs do a re-scan.
