For the longest time, I actually thought SpyHunter is rouge software. Maybe it is just the name that makes me this so. Anyways, I think I'd rather see SpyHunter's side of this, and not just what Bleeping Computers says about them.

Okay...see https://news.softpedia.com/news/makers-of-spyhunter-go-after-bleeping-computer-because-of-negative-review-499818.shtml on the web.

Also see https://blog.malwarebytes.org/news/2016/02/bleepingcomputer-defends-freedom-of-speech/ on the web.

And here is that "negative" review at https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/550005/spyhunter-vs-malwarebytes-vs-iobit/ on the web.

I'm not familiar with Spyhunter--must be a lower tier product. I think they will be hurting themselves more than Bleeping Computer when this is all over.

Read the suit that's been filed at this link:

(Hi folks, first post)
For as long as recall, Enigma and Spyhunter have tried to sue parties and/or people for negative reviews. Their software is useless at best, and dangerous at worst.
From memory, Spyhunter 'stole' the underlying code and databases from Spybot some years ago. However, once the publicity got too loud, they removed traces of Spybot code/signatures etc and went a different path. I do remember them suing another entity for negative reviews as well, but can't recall who it was.

I would provide more links to the stories about Enigma and Spyhunter, but I'm pretty sure GuitarBob has provided enough.

Cheers

Yes - I have read remarks several times at different sources on the world wide web that put the people at Spyhunter in a bad light. I don't know if the program is any good, but I don't want an organization like that in computer software security. I made a contribution to Bleeping Computer when I first heard of this. If they get enough of a war chest, I'm sure Spyhunter will drop their suit and crawl back in the woodwork.
