CLAMAV ENGINE 0.98.6 IS PLANNED FOR RELEASE IN CLAMWIN?

There has been no word on this. Clam AV version .98.6 is basically bug fixes. If ClamWin did not pass all the functionality in Clam AV version .98.5, into its version .98.5 Windows port, then there may not be any need for a version .98.6 bug fix in ClamWin.

Most of the issues in .98.6 were mac or Linux related, so I don't think it is a big issue. I emailed both sherpya and alch, but have not received word from either of them, yet.

Thanks for your post. There has been a new version of ClamWin version .98.6 in beta testing for several days now.

If you would like to join the beta testers, contact developer Alch via the contact information on the ClamWin main web page. More beta testers are needed. It seems that many people want to use ClamWin, but they do not want to be involved in testing. The program is free, so testing is one way to pay for it. You basically just use the test version like you normally do and notify the developers of any problems you encounter.

To join beta testers, click on Usergroups on the top, then where it says Current Memberships, click the drop box and make sure it says beta testers, then on the far right of that click on View Information, then where it says Group Membership on the top, click on subscribe. You are now in beta testers and you should see the bta topic thread, as well. Be sure to check in on it within a few days after a new ClamAV version is posted.
