Hi all,

Does anyone know if ClamWin requires Sp1, Sp2, Sp3 on WinXP?

Perhaps a pointer in terms of the compiler or its framework target: .Net 2.0, .Net 3.5, .Net 4.0... etc.

For all those machines around the world running early versions of XP, ClamWin may be the only AV scanner they can use as most of what I can find are built using .Net 4.5!

I believe that ClamWin works okay on any version of Windows XP. It works on Windows 98 (with some problems now and then--primarily due to lack of resources and the closed operating system). If it works on Win 98, it should work on Win XP.

Since some AVS are discontinuing support for Win XP, you might look into the free Clam Sentinel real-time front-end for ClamWin. It is free, open source and available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. It is a separate project from ClamWin that was developed to provide some additional protection when files are added, modified, or copied on your computer. ClamWin must be instealled before you can use Clam Sentinel. Be sure to read the Simple Guide before using Clam Sentinel
