you need to specify some command line parameters to clamscan, the bare minimum is --database
for the list of parameters run "clamscan --help" |

Thanks for your prompt reply, i have tried running clamwin again from the command line after looking at the help file and reading through the arguements, however I am still having problems. I am probably missing something really obvious here but I can not see the wood for the trees.
I have downloaded and tested clamwin with the zip files from eicar.org and clamwin detects and quarantines these files through windows explorer (right click, "Scan for Viruses with ClamWin"), however I am now getting this error when trying to run clamwin from the command line with the database argument ?? Please help. C:\ClamWin\bin>clamscan --database=C:\.clamwin\db\main.vcd ERROR: C:\.clamwin\db\main.vcd: Not supported database file type ----------- SCAN SUMMARY ----------- Known viruses: 0 Engine version: 0.87.1 Scanned directories: 0 Scanned files: 0 Infected files: 0 Data scanned: 0.00 MB Time: 0.001 sec (0 m 0 s)[/i] |
