I get this occasionally on my own computer, and it is a Win 7 x32 laptop. It happens sometimes when I try to do a manual scan from Internet Explorer on a folder. If I open up the folder so I can see all the files it contains, then the scan works okay.
Can you do a scan of one file? Can you do a scan of a folder? Can you do a scheduled scan? If none of these work, then something is preventing ClamWin from working. See if you can scan with another security product--like Malwarebytes free Antimalware or Dr. Web's free Cureit scanner to see if malware is involved. If none of this helps you, then go back to the ClamWin version you had prior to the update and see if that works. If it does, then for some reason, the new version is the problem, so keep using the older version. Each version of ClamWin has some new functionality, and sometimes it is not compabable with older computer models. The original Clam AV code that is ported over to Windows does not concern itself with model differences. As for your crunch problem, you probably need a technician to take a look at it. Thanks for using ClamWin! Regards, |

When i click scan on a certain folder, the same issue happens,, however,
i negleted to mention something. when i click scan, there are three sentences that within a mico second pop up and go away then the screen showing scan complete appears. the three sentences do not show up in the .txt report anywhere. i tried to capture the lines doing screen shots but only was able to catch the first sentence at any given time. i ran a video with my phone,, here is what pops up and goes away quickly WARNING - Ignoring depreciated option -no mail WARNING - Numerical value for option max scansize too high, resetting to 4g WARNING - Numerical value for option max filesize too high, resetting to 4g i did increase some of these items above,, manually,, again, ths pops up and then scan complete presents itself on the screen within a time frame of about 2 seconds... no matter what i chose to scan. |

I suggest that you use the default ClamWin configuration--without any additional paramaters and see if this improves the scanning. If it doesn't, then revert back to the previous version of ClamWin.
Let us know how it goes. Regards, |

Have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling? Do you use any another security program? Did any of these block ClamWin when you were installing ClamWin or perhaps running a scan? Make sure to check quarantine folders of all your security programs to make sure there is nothing about ClamWin, clamscan or anything like that.

no, but thats an option as you all have instructed.
Yes, Malwarebytes but i generally turn it off, pull my network cable and run indvidual scan services one at a time. after first running my paid for ver of malewarebytes with protection module, i run clamwin then i finalize with CCleaner. I am seriously considering clamwin to be my primary first go to service because it (until recently) found things Malwarebytes did not... I should do this.
not that i am aware of,,
will do |

To your point exactly,, upon my last update to clamwin, these issues started. i did do as you suspected and adjusted the qty of files max ect per the three lines i posted ealier, but i only did these adjustments "After" the issues started and the reults did not change. now i can not remember what the original settings were, yet that would cure itself if i do what your suggesting,, i was holding off to find out the best recommendations rather than assuming what to do. I never went into preferences before but decided to when i had this issue. I may or maynot have brought this on myself.. dono yet. Thank you all very much, will tinker more on this , this weekend. |
