Hello,
i installed Clamwin and removed AVG because Clamwin seems much less resources taking. All i need is to make it a daily Scan.
I put in everything in the Sheduler, and it seems he does do the sheduled scan at the time i put in.
But
1) How do i see that a sheduled scan is running?
Try Icon is not moving, no popup window with the scanner progress is showing, i dont find anything in the settings.
When i click with right-mouse button on the Tray Icon and go to "Sheduler" i can see the option "stop all running tasks now" what would mean that he
is scanning at the moment, but a lot of clicking just to see if he actually is scanning, or if the scan has finnished yet or not.
When i click on Scheduler -> Run Sheduled Scan -> Name of Scan then it will start instantly the scan regardless of the time and there is a popup window
that shows up with the progress of the scan. I dont get this window on the sheduled time when it automaticly starts.
If it is intendet as background scan maybe you can just add a "checkbox" into the sheduler options "run in background" to enable / disbale this.
This popup windows that pops up if you manually start a "sheduled scan" is perfect, its just it wont open on automatic sheduled scans.
2) How can i scan whole computer in sheduler?
I only can add one "harddisc" as a sheduled scan, but not all 5 harddiscs to scan one after another. So i add C:/ for scanning on 5:00am but i want
it to scan also D,E,F & G. At the moment only thing i found was making one "sheduled scan" for every harddisc. And thats pretty bad, because you never
can say how long the scan on C:/ will take, for example make D:/ start at 07:00am, E:/ at 09:00am etc...
On manual scan there is the "hold shift button" option to select multiple harddiscs, but i cant find anything like that for sheduled scan, did i miss it or it it really not possible?
*EDIT* Because i cant post into the "Feature Request" board, i write it here, something easy to add as feature, but would help alot.
Please make the "report" textfile open automatically after the scan has finsihed, so its the first thing you see after getting back to the pc.
Or to have a option to enable / disable this feature.
kind regards, ot4

Thank you for using ClamWin!
ClamWin started as a simple file scanner and is still oriented that way. You must be a power user with 5 hard drives! An option to scan multiple hard drives (either real or virtual) would certainly be useful nowadays, and I have referenced your post to the 2 Clamwin developers.
ClamWin scheduled scans work in the background and are usually very reliable. I either look at my hard drive light or at task manager to verify a scheduled scan is operating. Perhaps a tooltip message to indicate "ClamWin scanning as scheduled" or something like that would be helpful.
The "Run A Scheduled Scan" menu item requests an immediate scan of a scheduled scan. There is presently no option to pause/hold a manual scan.
Thank you for your suggestions. Development time is limited, so it may take some time for the developers to address new suggestions. In my opinion, this would make a great feature for ClamWin 1.0!
You might also be interested in Clam Sentinel, a separate free, Open Source project that enables real-time scanning with ClamWin as files are added, modified, or copied to your computer. Clam Sentinel also has a heuristic scanner for malware that does not yet have a ClamWin signature. Clam Sentinel is available in several languages at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web.
