I'm wondering if ClamWin will detect this "DNS Changer" virus that is supposed to affect thousands of computers this coming Monday.

On a side note. Is Windows ME affected by that virus?

The DNS changer virus is fairly old, so ClamWin should have a signature for it. The virus has already run its course. The botnet that was spreading the virus was taken off line by Microsoft and the authorities months ago, and they set up "good" substitute DNS servers for those users who were infected by the virus so they could still use the world wide web while the virus was removed from their computers. All infected users were supposed to be notified that they were infected. The "good" DNS servers were supposed to be taken off-line a couple of months ago, but they were left operating to give the infected users more time for cleanup The final deadline for users to remove the virus will expire next week. There has been plenty of time for infected users to get cleaned, but there are still an estimated minmum of 30,000 infected users (maybe lots more)--among them lots of Fortune 500 computers. The infected users have had plenty of time to clean up, and the authorities just can't keep the "good" substitute DNS servers operating any longer.

Regards,
