The free version is pretty good. I've used paid versions in the past, and although they do offer a bit more, I've actually gone back to just using the free version! Best free AV software around in my opinion.

If you want to buy a best and paid antivirus then Norton is always best.

There is really no one best AV. One AV may be better at detecting some types of malware than others. Some AVs are slower than others. AVs have different user interfaces (GUIs). Any AV can have a false positive now and then. Some AVs use more computer resources than others. Most AVs have hard-working people that are trying to improve their AV and keep on top of signatures for current malware. Given the number and complexity of malware, this is not an easy job. It takes people and resources.
Your best bet for an AV is to try them out (many have a 30 day or so free trial) and pick one that is easy for you to use and that updates its signatures at least daily. You can also look at the regular test results from AV Comparatives and AV Test organizations. Regards, |

ClamWin is not a "real-time" scanner (that scans as files are accessed), so it will not use many computer resources until it is actually scanning. It is an "on-demand" scanner that scans when you tell it to on a schedule or when you do a manual scan. The scan engine and virus signatures for ClamWin comes from Clam AV (for Linux), which is used by many email services to detected worms and other malware that targets them. Since ClamWin is not a real-time scanner, it works quite well with many real-time AVs.
If your web site is hosted by someone, it is very important to get a good host that is concerned with security. If you host the site yourself, it may be best to get a commercial AV and also make sure you have sufficient memory on the host "box." More memory can help any AV to run better on the box. Regards, |

For me, the free version of avast works perfectly well. I have not tried never to pay for the other version, but I think maybe in the future, as we use it in my pc the whole family and do not know what kind of content can see my children.
Thanks for the information |
