Hello all.

I have a Clamwin version 0.96.5
I installed it just today and to god's wishes i got messages like Updating, disconnected, updating, updated.. Dont know what if it really updated or not, because the database files got disconnected before all were to be completely updated, but then the antivirus said updated.

Please tell me what's that. I have a slow 100kbps cdma connection which is consistent and never breaks up ..

You should always use the latest version of ClamWin, which is now version .97.4. It is available for download from the main ClamWin web page. Each new version is improved from the previous one, so always make sure you are using the latest version.

Click on the ClamWin system tray icon and select Display Reports and then select Virus Database Update Report to see what the last update says. Here is an example of an update with no problems:

Let is know if it looks like something is wrong. You can se ClamWin for automatic updates via the Sytem Tray icon, Configuration, Internet Updates, and select the enable button. Use Hourly updates, and set a starting time.

Look at the warnings in the update report. I don't think we can tell much until you update to the current version of ClamWin. It appears that you have at least a partial update, but you may not get all the update(s) until you get the current version. You might not be able to detect some viruses, or you might even have some false positive detections on "clean" files until you get it.

Actually, i am a completely naive user, i thought maybe the definitions will be updated even if the program is old. Or maybe something my internet which doesn't allow my antivirus to run update correctly.

Sorry if I scared you--just wanted to make sure you will get the current version! You are actually up-to-date--see where the scan report says "main cld is up-to-date" and "daily cvd is up-to-date" and "bytecode cld is up-to-date"? There are 3 signature databases: main, daily, and bytecode. Main is the large database. Daily is a smaller daily database that is merged with the main database a few times each year. The bytecode database contains high-tech, programming-oriented signatures.
