The scan results say that I have one infected file, however, there is no file/virus information listed.
Is this a false positive, or do I really have an infected file? How can I "find" the file?

Also scanned with Symantec, and nothing was found. But, there were two "alerts" from Symatec (while I was running the Clamwin) that said a "Bloodhound exploit" (heuristic detection) was found, but Symantec appeared to have deleted the "bad" file. I get these warnings quite often, but have no idea if they're really something to worry about.

I really don't want this to be a virus. I work for a state univeristy and when you have a virus, they wipe and reimage your machine -- a big hassle.

Anyway-- don't know if these two issues are related, just want to give as much detail as possible. See screen shot for Clamwin scan results.

You can identify the file by pulling up Display Reports by right-clicking the ClamWin icon in your system tray. Then choose Virus Scan Report, and you can scroll around to see it. That will tell you where the file was located, and you can go there to upload it to Jotti or Virus Total for a second opinion" about the file from multiple antivirus programs, including our Clam AV engine.

A virus would most likely be in your Windows\System3 folder or in Users (the main user) or Documents and Settings in older computers.

You probably have your ClamWin Infected File Option set to "Report Only" under the ClamWin General Preferences. You can change it to "Quarantine" "Report Only" or Remove." If you cange it to Quarantine and do a scan, all infected files will be placed in the ClamWin quarantine folder, where you can easily see it then.

The Symantec heuristics are set pretty high (they don't want to take any chances), so they do not always indicate a virus.

Regards,
