I have suffering several virus attack on my pc. Is there a way to detach them and from getting into my system? Post some links on how to's please. Thanks a lot!

temp change your hdd to slave then run antivirus from another hdd scanning the whole of the original hdd, then delete found virus.

Before working on the hard drive, I would try some AV solutions:

Kaskpersy TDSSKiller is good at finding many hidden viruses. See https://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 on the web.

Malwarebytes Free edition is good at finding many run-of-the-mill viruses. See https://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free on the web.

eScan has a nice rescue CD that runs with its own copy of Vista instead of Linux, like most of the rescue CDs. Their scanner isn't know too well, but it is good. See https://www.escanav.com/english/content/company/technologies/escan_rescue_disk.asp on the web.

These 3 ideas are the best I have. Try them in the order shown. If they do not work for you, either consult a professional or do a Reformat & Reinstall.

I've been using clamwin for a while and today a scan has found two virus files, one in a hidden directory called C:\RECYCLER and another in C:\WINDOWS. I'd never heard of the recycler directory before and I can't find a way to un-hide it otherwise I'd just in and manually delete the file.

Clamwin itself doesn't provide any way to deal with and remove them, and my system only has provision for one HDD so I can't use the 'isolate then attack' method.

What other good ways are there which doesn't involve having to pay money or take out a recurring subscription?

PS. I downloaded and ran Kaspersky and it did NOT find the two virus-infected files that Clamwin picked up on.
