Greetings,
I just read that ClamAV is now using an experimental database from Google and I was wondering if this database could be used with ClamWin?

I believe some configuration has to be done to ClamWin (either by the developers, the user, or probably both) in order to use any of the new Clam AV experimental databases. I recommend you wait until they have actually become operational to use them. In the meantime, look into the Malware Patrol block list for the hosts file 127.0.0.1 and get a new one each week. I keep my old C:\Windows\System 32\drivers\etc.\hosts file and rename it OLDhosts (no extension) and download the Malware Patrol host list and rename it hosts (no extension). Once in a while, they will block a "good" web site, but it's a decent hosts list that won't let you visit known "bad" sites.
For even more protection, consider the free Clam Sentinel real-time "front-end" for ClamWin. If you use it with another AV, be sure to exclude the other AV's program folder, data folder, and signature/quarantine folders (if separate from data folder) from Clam Sentinel scans. Also exclude the ClamWin program folder, data folder, the Sentinel program folder and, if possible, the Clamtemp scan files (on my Win 7 machine they are C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Local\Temp\clamav-*). You can minimize similutaneous double resource use by both AVs if you use these exclusions.
Regards,
