at https://oss.netfarm.it/clamav/ 32- and 64 Bit versions of the windows port of clamav are available. Would it be useful and have an advantage to use these libraries for future versions of Clamwin? As 64Bit-Versions of Win Vista/ 7 are more and more common, it would make sense to provide Clamwin in this way with 64Bit support. Or do you already have such plans or is such a version under development?

currently the ui is made with an old python version (2.3) and an old wx toolkit version, I've tested a port some time ago to a new version of wx, but it was broken on win9x and had some minor glitches, we hope to make a native gui someday

You can try a different way:
go in clamwin\bin directory

backup:
clamscan.exe
freshclam.exe
libclamav.dll
libclamunrar.dll
libclamunrar_iface.dll
libclamav_llvm.dll
pyc.pyd
(you don't need sigtool)

then put inside same files from my 64bit package
pick this version of pyc.pyd https://oss.netfarm.it/clamav/files/pyc.pyd https://oss.netfarm.it/clamav/files/pyc.pyd
it's a simple replacement for pyc, pyc is used by clamwin only to detect 64bit system and disable filesystem redirection, that will prevent
32bit processes to access c:\windows\system32

I've not tested extensively but it should work
