You can not use a Linux AV with the Windows operating system. You have to boot up via the Linux operating system--either on a dual boot system containing both operating systems, or via a boot CD containing Linux with a Linux AV (a "rescue" CD). Linux AVs are not usually set up for real-time use like Windows AVs.

The ClamWin developers port the Clam AV scanning engine and signature database over to Windows, enabling the AV to be used in an on-demand Windows environment. There are some other Clam AV ports for Windows, such as the Immunet AV and the version of Clam AV used in Spyware Terminator.

ClamWin is an on-demand AV scanner--not a real-time scanner. Clam Sentinel (a separate project from ClamWin) lets you use ClamWin as a real-time scanner. It can be downloaded athttps://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web.
