When I came here and logged in there was no message.

May I assume that the same 'spam' issue is involved with my today's Private Message, and that the following is a result of Clamwin countermeasures? When I log on to view the message (and the page confirms that I have one) attempts to view result in "Private Messaging Disabled this page"

Yes, the private message function has been temporarily disabled on the ClamWin forums to prevent spam being sent via PM.

So, how do I clear the "You've Got Mail!" flag if (as I am assuming) my "mail" is some sleeze-ball message about "Male Enhancement" or my "FREE MEMBERSHIP!" in the "Hot Date of the Month-Club". . . . .

The other side of this is: How in the $%#@&!! did some sleeze-ball spammer get on this board anyway? As *I* remember, I had to follow several different "Are You A Human Being?" verifications including e-mail confirmation and submission of a DNA sample. ( )

Just curious. . . .

Just forget about the private message for a while--I have one too. Spammers are always trying to gain entrance. They are probably taking advantage of some php vulnerability. Some spammers are now allied with malware purveyors, so it was thought best to just disable their medium until the problem can be found and corrected.
