Clam Sentinel version 1.16 has been released. The Clam Sentinel program
enables real-time scanning with ClamWin. It also greatly improves
protection by employing its own heuristic scanning engine to detect new
malware that does not yet have a Clam signature. Version 1.16 comes
with a separate Sentinel Recover program for quarantined files that
works on all computers, including Windows 98. Additional new features
include improved system monitor heuristics, an autostart setup choice
for multiple users, a patch for Windows 98 lockup on some files,
wildcard support for whitelisted files/folders, and support for two new
languages. Clam Sentinel now supports English, French, German, Italian,
Japanese, Polish, and Spanish.
Clam Sentinel is a free program for Windows 98 through Windows 7 users,
and it is available for download at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. Clam Sentinel
is a separate project from ClamWin, but ClamWin must be installed and
configured before Clam Sentinel can be used. New users can read the
Simple Guide downloaded with the program before setup.
You can get support, report bugs, and suggest improvements at the
Clam Sentinel web site. If you like Clam Sentinel, please let the author,
Andrea Russo of Italy, know. A thank you to him would also be nice!
