Hi I am a quite new user of clamwin and sentinel. All my digital photographs are stored on a formatted dvd .This is a rewritable one which was formatted using ahead packeting software.Ihave not used this for some months but recently tried to write a few files to the dvd.Only one file was burnt and the os crashed, this was repeated for four further crashes.
Even by Win98se record this is bad.next day exited both clamwin and sentinel all was well and multi files were burnt as normal, To exit both programs before using incd is not a ploblem but there is some issues between the two.
comments please.
Regards pulteny.

So you are using Windows 98? If there is a problem, I think it may be with Sentinel because ClamWin does not do anything in real-time by itself. Turn off the Sentinel option to detect and monitor new drives and also turn off the option to ask to monitor new drives (I assume they are on--right?) and see if you still have the problem. Get back here with results.

Good. Let us know the results. The Sentinel author mainly had USB drives in mind when he developed the new drive monitoring option. DVDs may be a bit different, and he might need some modification to the Sentinel code to handle them properly.

Hi guitarbob.
This was intended to be a continuation thread from my last post but find this forum hard to navigate.you advised me to take out two ticks in sentinel to see if that would stop win98se from crashing when burning files to a formatted cd/dvd. Your idea has not worked! I have narrowed it down to sentinel as clam win on its own does not cause a crash.
Up comes a blue screen with this message " fatal exception oe 0028:c1534b8d in vxd incdfs(01) .This means nothing to me.
Hope you can connect this with our previous conversation.
Regards pulteny
