So, I just installed clamwin. When I try to do a scan, rather than the scan window popping up, clam just closes.
I booted in safe mode, and it scanned fine. I have no idea what's interfering, and am hoping someone here can help me.
Thanks Guys, Hawk

Did you find any virus/malware during the Safe Mode scan? If you did, have ClamWin quarantine it and then do a normal boot and try a scan. If you didn't find anything, I suggest you uninstall ClamWin and then do a clean install. Let us know if you still have problems after the clean install.

It appears it only reported them. I'll go in and manually delete all the trojans it found.

ClamWin has an Infected Files Option (under the General configuration tab). It comes with a default of Report Only. Other choices are Quarantine and Remove (do not use remove--you might remove an important file that has a false positive detection).
If you found viruses in the Safe Mode scan and deleted them manually or quarantined them but still are unable to scan with ClamWin when in normal mode, then there must be an virus infection that prevents a scan in normal mode. Viruses sometimes have trouble operating in Safe Mode.
I suggest you download the free version of Malwarebytes' antimalware program at https://www.malwarebytes.org/ on the web. Watch it--you will be diverted to another site for the download--do not download anything there but Malwarebytes. Install Malwarebytes and do a Quick Scan in normal mode with it. Then do a Quick Scan in Safe Mode. Let it delete/quarantine anything it finds, but record the virus names. Then see if you can scan with ClamWin in normal mode. Get back here with results.
