That is a bad email address. Look what happened when I tried a test email:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<clamwin@abcglobal.net>:

I think you will need to fill in the actual real email addresses and SMTP information on the ClamWin configuration Email Alerts tab. It sounds like the email address you gave me was just an example from somewhere. Looks to me like the email alert is primarily designed for use by networks.

I do understand, that I am asking for a working setup. Once I see that
setup then I will know how to setup mine. Where is that e-mail coming from ?
If "clamwin" is local (my computer) then am I sending that e-mail from me
to me ?? I am trying to get my head around that.......mike Confused

Yes. It looks to be designed for network admins so they can be informed about malware on the various machines for which they are responsible. If you are only on one machine, you would have to configure ClamWin to send the malware notice from your email address to your email address. Try it and see if it works, but it might be best to set up a Gmail address (POP 3 automated) from which to send malware notices to your regular email address.

Of course, with only one machine, I don't see why you would want to do this, unless you are not always present when the computer is on and ClamWin scans (maybe you are at work at another location).

Do you have access to a working setup ? I think that will help me the most.
I want to see a screen shot, an uploaded attachment file. I find that the help information is incomplete & that is part of the problem. This is a real challenge and I do want to see ir through,

Sorry, I have not set up email notification, as I have no need for it. I am around when my computer scans.

Perhaps someone who has used it can chime in. Also, did you do some searching on the ClamWin forums for "email notification", etc.?
