I am using Clamwin on an old PC that still has Windows 98SE. When I attempt to scan the disk, which has a mere 20 GB of files,
I run out of disk space on C: partition, as it generates hundred of megabytes of crap in C:\DOS\
I can't see any option to change where it puts these temp files. Also it does not remove them when it has finished.
I have to reboot Windows and then delete them. I expect better in the year 2011.

ClamWin usually policies up its temp files pretty well. This may be something uniquie to Win 98 (I haven't heard anything) and/or your configuration. I've passed your post on to a strong Win 98 user. Let's see what he says.

Andrea Russo says that sometimes temp files are not deleted, so an entry is made in the Win.ini file to do so when the machine is rebooted. You might try to reboot and see if that clears up the temp files. When I was running XP with ClamWin a couple of years ago, I periodically went through and deleted them manually, but this may have been before they used the Win.ini fix.
