I'm bumping this thread because this happened to me and several other people other the weekend. This has been the central thread for this topic since 2008. I have experienced the "multiple instance" issue on at least a few of my computers every New Years and Daylight Savings Time since 2008. Some of us have been waiting that long for a permanent fix.

I too, have about a half-dozen computers in my care which suffered this problem over the past weekend (2010-2011 year end/begin).
ALL these affected machines are Win XP SP3.
ALL (except maybe the first two, where I did not make notes before removing ClamWin) were running ClamWin 0.95.2 or newer.
Thanks for looking into this.

The problem should be solved in the next version!
Last monday (first weekday in the new year) the problem dissapeared already.
Leaving the system date at a test-value (last week of the previous year) during compilation of the changed code was probably the cause!
