Seems like I recall that the exception filter does not work when you demand a one-on-one scan of an individual file--it is only for folder/drive scans. I could be wrong, but do a scan of the folder the excepted file is in, and see if it is still detected then.
Upload the false positive to Clam AV--tell them it is a false positive and give the exact name of the falsely-detected virus. That is the only way to "cure" a false positive for good. As for getting your money's worth, what did you pay for Clamwin? If we users had each contributed to the project about 1/4 of what a commercial AV costs, then perhaps ClamWin would be further along in development/capabilities. Regards, |

Sorry about the bad joke...guess you've heard it before
![]() Clam quarantines the exe whenever a user tries to launch it. The only way I can get Clam to leave it alone is to turn it off. Also, not sure how to change Clam to "report only" instead of moving files to the quarantine as it does now...pretty sure it's not in the settings? |

Are you talking about Clam AV (Linux) or ClamWin (Windows)? This is the ClamWin forum. ClamWin is an on-demand scanner for Windows that does not scan in real-time as files are accessed/launched. It scans on-demand when you manually scan a file or when you have scheduled a scan. The Infected Files Option to Report/Quarantine/Remove is accessed from the General Preferences Tab and can be easily seen there.
If you are not talking about ClamWin, we can't help you here, and it sounds to me like you are talking about some other software. Regards, |
