I see that on the clamav.net website the latest release is up to 0.96.2.

I don't think it is anything major, but Sherpya has been working on some stuff for ClamWin, so we might see a ClamWin program update also.

Not being around here too long, I now see ClamAV has been updated to 0.96.3 - FreshClam update log indicated so. Is the usual protocol that ClamWin updates follow ClamAV?

ClamWin uses the scan engine (and signature database) from Clam AV (Linux), so it ClamWin updates the program after Clam AV comes out with a new version. Once in a while a new version may not be applicable to ClamWin (Windows) , so there is no ClamWin update, but there usually is.
